This is also known as number sense—understanding how numbers work together to make math easier—on a small scale. It’s one of those things in common core that is often overlooked

I either do it that way or i think to myself “so if i add 3 to 7 it makes 10, which will be an easier number to add something to, now if i take away 3 from the 6 im left with 3, so 10+3 is definitely 13”

“i just do 7+6=13, but i wonder how other people do it. i guess they could do 7+7=14 then since 6=7-1 they do 14-1=13. Or they could do it the other way around, 6+6=12, 7=6+1 so 12+1=13. I wonder if anyone does it 2×6+1=13 or 2×7-1=13… Oh but they can also do it 7+3=10 and 10+3=13, or even 7+10=17 and 17-4=13!” etc
and i think like that for literally every single calcul ever

Everyone calculates differently / for everyone a different way is easier. That’s why teachers in the first years of school are supposed to teach multiple ways of archiving something.

This has nothing to do with ADHD, its just a way to calculate.

Wait what- not everyone does it like that?

I have adhd?

I’m doing it different:

7+3=10, so 3 left

10+3=13

Yea this has literally 0 to do with ADHD.

Oh nooo, it’s me

Low effort + reaction meme

Oh I suppose that works too

This is my brain

7= 5+2

6= 5+1

1+2=3

5+5= 10

10+3=13

Therefore

7+6=13

Maybe bc I count on my hands a lot so my brain thinks in 5s

This fits Autistic behaviour more than ADHD but its still way off the mark. This is exactly how.i wpuld work it out.

ADD gang

This is also known as number sense—understanding how numbers work together to make math easier—on a small scale. It’s one of those things in common core that is often overlooked

Wooah

Me too?

No that’s not how ADHD wo… nvm

Good thing I can’t read

I thought everyone did that D:

Jokes on you, that kind of thinking is beneficial when doing more advanced calculating

(7+3)+3=10+3=13

I have done this all my life, yet i don’t have ADHD

7 + 6 = ?

7 + 3 + 3 = ?

10 + 3 = ?

10 + 3 = 13

7 + 6 = 13

This is accurate

Nah, y’all gotta know basic math c’mon

I have the exact same thing but I have ADHD

What the hell is ADHD ? Anti diuretic hormone deficiency?

This describes me so much, now I am questioning myself if I have adhd

There’s no maybe. I definitely have ADHD.

Why do I do this all the time?

Too accurate

Holy crap this is to accurate it scares me

6 – 3 = 3

3 + 10 = 13

7+3=10

10+3=13

I have ADHD and this is ture

This is literally what common core teaches….

I do the 5+5= 10 and 1+2 is 3 so 10+3=13

I have adhd and this is exactly how I think

I just do 7+6 equals 10+3

Damn

13×17? , 13×17=(3+10)x17 , 10×17=170 and 3×17=3×10+7×3 = 30+21=51 and with that 13×17=170+51=200+21=221 thats how my brain function

Mientras mas me la mamas mas me crece

Im in this picture and i dont like it

*my ADHD leaving my body because i don’t do it like that*

i multiply by five by multiplying by ten and then dividing by two tho.

I either do it that way or i think to myself “so if i add 3 to 7 it makes 10, which will be an easier number to add something to, now if i take away 3 from the 6 im left with 3, so 10+3 is definitely 13”

As someone who has been diagnosed with adhd, I can confirm this is accurate. I though everybody did it tho.

wait doesn’t everyone do that?

true thats why i hate maths

noooo, 7+6 7+3=10 and then there is just three left so its thirteen

Maybe I do

Now ig everyone has ADHD

Me 6 + 7 = 14

Wait my whole family has adhd

i do have that, and i don’t remember how old nobody is so i just invent a formula to calculate it based on my age

What are you talking about everyone and their mothers do it like the “ADHD” people.

… i have adhd and for me it’s more like:

“i just do 7+6=13, but i wonder how other people do it. i guess they could do 7+7=14 then since 6=7-1 they do 14-1=13. Or they could do it the other way around, 6+6=12, 7=6+1 so 12+1=13. I wonder if anyone does it 2×6+1=13 or 2×7-1=13… Oh but they can also do it 7+3=10 and 10+3=13, or even 7+10=17 and 17-4=13!” etc

and i think like that for literally every single calcul ever

so yeah the original is not really true lol

Everyone calculates differently / for everyone a different way is easier. That’s why teachers in the first years of school are supposed to teach multiple ways of archiving something.

This has nothing to do with ADHD, its just a way to calculate.

I have something similar

Split 3

Add 3 to 7

Get 10

Add 3 to 10

Answer=13

i feel being called out

Wait— I thought it was either Bcs I’m bad at math or everyone did it—

that is literally how i do mental maths

i find an easy and round calculation thats close, then estimate based on that

Exactly why my teachers didn’t understand when I showed them how I found the answers. And they made me stop using my fingers!!!

Bruhh that’s totally what I do !!!!

I have ADHD and I can relate

I have ADHD and for me i do this:

6+7

Remove 3 from 6 and add to the 7

We get 10

Add the remaining 3 from the 6 and you get 13

I just have some random basic math facts memorized, and use them to solve other basic problems like this and I don’t have ADHD

I think I have adhd

yes finally
