  1. In Germany we had other things that I still miss for example Green Apple Shampoo. However I am glad to use DVDs (there you see how old I am) instead of video tapes. I think I have to watch Goonies again. Thanks for the memories. Today I bought some cereal. Why are the little items gone? (Remember the compass from “1941”?)🍒

    1. OMG! Green apple shampoo. Woodleigh Field use to make it. I miss that smell. I remember that here in Australia, in the 70’s – 80’s.

    1. “These are bath oil beads. Seems like there were thousands in my house as a child.”

You throw a couple of them in a hot bath while you’re filling up the tub, and the gelatin shell dissolves to release the scented bath oil inside. They soften your skin and smell absolutely wonderful! You can still find them either in certain stores or online.

  2. – Quizno’s went down because the corporation was flat out screwing the hell out of their franchisees.
    – Creepy Crawlers was great. We sustained numerous burns while inhaling the fumes of burning plastic!
    – We talked in CB jargon at the school lunch table. That’s a big 10-4 good buddy!!
And just fyi, those credit card swipers were called “imprinters”.

    1. I was working at a jewellery store in the early ’80s; I had long, beautiful natural nails and I fucking HATED when people wanted to pay by credit card because I had to use the fucking imprinter. Mind you, I never broke a nail using it.

  3. You can still get Jones Soda in some places. The kids shampoos were available until a few years ago in some places. The rubber cement with the rubber cap would clog up and we’d use a steak knife to open the slit back up. The old Pizza Hut decor was the best.

  4. My older daughter lived on Kid Cuisines for supper during the first trimester of my second pregnancy because I had Kate Middleton-level “morning” sickness and couldn’t even handle the smell of coffee, much less cook for anybody!

My MIL had those plastic-barrel “Hugs” drinks at her house for the grandkids. She died in 2014, and ever since then we visit her grave on Samhain to toast her memory with a Hug and a pack of Swedish Fish (her favorite candy).

We still have laser pointers in our house. If we got rid of them, our cats would mutiny!

  5. I was smitten with almost painful nostalgia at seeing the old Pizza Hut decor. My first date took me there. It felt like we were dining in luxury! The guy who took me on that first date remained a good friend til he died. We were both 35 the year he died and I had not thought of that Pizza Hut date til now. Bittersweet!
